Officials say the blast today (Monday) in the northeastern province of Marib wounded seven other people.
The attack targeted a convoy of tourists at an ancient temple that dates back three thousand years to the time of the Biblical Queen of Sheba.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but Yemeni security officials say they suspect al-Qaida.
Yemen is the ancestral homeland of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, and the terrorist group has carried out several attacks in the country, including the 2000 bombing of a U.S. warship in Aden that killed 17 American sailors.
