오는 29일 일본에서 참의원 선거가 실시될 예정인 가운데 아베 신조 총리 내각에 대한 지지율이 여론조사 결과 사상 최저치로 떨어졌습니다.
아사히 신문은 오늘(2일) 여론조사 결과 아베 내각에 대한 지지율이 불과 28 퍼센트에 그쳤다고 보도했습니다. 마이니치 신문 역시 여론조사 결과 응답자의 52 퍼센트가 아베 내각을 불신하고 있는 것으로 나타났다고 전했습니다.
이런 낮은 지지율로 인해 29일 실시될 참의원 선거를 앞둔 집권 자민당에는 빨간불이 켜지고 있습니다. 그러나 아베 총리는 자민당이 중의원에서 넓은 지지를 얻고 있어 퇴각이라는 최악의 사태를 맞은 것으로는 보이지 않습니다.
아베 총리는 지난해 9월 전후세대로서는 처음으로 총리에 취임했으나 은퇴 연금제 개혁에 대한 유권자들의 발발과 연쇄적인 부패 스캔들로 인해 지지율이 계속 떨어지고 있습니다.

Newspaper polls in Japan show support for Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's cabinet at an all-time low.
An "Asahi" newspaper poll finds Mr. Abe has the support of only 28 percent of respondents. Another survey by the "Mainichi" newspaper indicates Mr. Abe's cabinet has a 52 percent disapproval rating.
The low numbers could hurt the prime minister's ruling Liberal Democratic Party in the July 29th upper house elections, but Mr. Abe may not be forced from his post. The LDP still enjoys large support in the lower house of parliament.
Mr. Abe took office in September, becoming Japan's first prime minister born after World War Two.
The government's mismanagement of pension records and a series of corruption scandals has forced Mr. Abe to answer questions about his cabinet members' actions.
