중국 정부 관계자들은 불법 노동자를 단속하고 이러한 불법노동 행위들을 막기 위해 조치를 취하도록 지시를 받았습니다.
중국 정부는 또 이 성명에서 노예 노동에서 구출된 노동자들이 적절한 의료지원과 보상을 받아야 한다고 말하고, 강제 노동에 연루된 관료들은 강력하게 처벌 받을 것이라고 강조했습니다.
한편, 적어도 8명의 중국 정부 관계자들이 이번 사건과 관련된 혐의로 이미 조사를 받고 있습니다.

China has announced plans to launch a new campaign to crack down on slave labor, following the exposure of illegal labor practices at brick kilns and mines in the country's central provinces.
A statement posted today (Wednesday) on China's central government Web site says the two-month-long campaign will begin next week and focus on inspections of small-scale brick kilns, coal mines and workshops.
Chinese officials have been ordered to fix illegal labor practices and take action against such criminal behavior.
The statement also says that rescued slave laborers should be given necessary medical care and compensation. It warns that officials involved in forced labor will be punished severely.
At least eight officials are already being investigated for their alleged participation in the labor scandal.
