독일에서 조류독감이 재발했습니다. 지난 한 주동안 가장 위험한 조류독감 바이러스에 감염돼 사망한 조류가 적어도 3마리 발견됐습니다.
독일 관계관들은 24일 바바리아주에서 발견된 이들 조류가 치명적인 H5N1 형 바이러스에 감염됐음을 확인했습니다. 독일에서 올해 들어 조류독감 바이러스가 발견되기는 이번이 처음입니다.
바바리아 주에서 조류독감 바이러스에 감염돼 죽은 또다른 적어도 6마리의 조류들은 인간에게도 치명 가능성이 있는 H5N1형의 바이러스에 감염됐는지를 알아보기 위해 현재 검사 중에 있습니다.
세계보건기구, WHO는 지난 2003년 이후 전세계에서 조류독감으로 190명 가량이 사망했다고 밝혔습니다.

Bird flu has re-surfaced in Germany, where at least three dead birds have been found in the past week with the most dangerous strain of the virus.
German officials confirmed today (Sunday) that the birds, found in the state of Bavaria, had the deadly H5N1 strain of the disease. This is the first known outbreak of bird flu in Germany this year.
At least half a dozen other birds found dead in the state also had the disease. Their remains are being examined to see if they had the H5N1 strain, which is potentially fatal to humans.
The World Health Organization says about 190 people have died worldwide from bird flu since 2003. Most of the deaths have occurred in Asia. Indonesia alone has reported 80 deaths.
