일본은 소형 선박으로 북한을 탈출해 일본에 도착한 일가족 네 명을 남한으로 보냈다고 밝혔습니다.
북한을 탈출한 부부와 두 아들 등 네 명은 16일, 일본 나리타 공항에서 서울로 떠났습니다. 이들은 지난 2일 북한을 탈출해 엿새 동안 항해한 끝에 일본 아오모리현의 항구에 도착했었습니다. 이들 탈북 가족은 당초 남한으로 가려했으나 남한의 삼엄한 해상보안을 우려해 일본으로 향한 것이라고 밝힌 바 있습니다.
최근 몇 해 동안 북한의 굶주림과 가혹한 정치적 억압에 못견뎌 탈출한 북한 주민이 수 천 명에 달했으나 선박으로 탈출한 경우는 매우 드뭅니다.

Authorities in Japan say four North Koreans who drifted on a boat to Japan have been sent to South Korea.
The family of four - a couple and their two adult sons - left Tokyo's Narita airport today
(Saturday) for Seoul.
The family landed at a port in Japan's northern Aomori prefecture on June second after a six-day voyage. They told authorities they left North Korea with hopes of reaching the South, but changed their plans and headed to Japan because of concerns over heavy maritime security by both Koreas.
Thousands of North Koreans have fled their impoverished country to escape hunger and harsh political oppression in recent years, but it is rare for North Koreans to defect to Japan by ship.
