레바논 정부군과 팔레스타인 난민촌의 이슬람 민병대가 3주전부터 무력 충돌한 가운데 레바논 정부군이 9일 대포와 탱크를 동원해 이슬람 민병대를 계속 포격했습니다.
레바논 북부 트리폴리 근처 나흐르 엘 바레드 난민촌에는 이슬람 전투원들이 레바논군에 대응해 기관총과 탱크 공격용 로켓을 발사하면서 검은 연기가 올라오는 모습이 목격되고 있습니다.
지난달 20일 양측간의 교전이 시작된 이후 이슬람 전투원들과 주민들을 포함해 115명이 사망했으며 50명에 가까운 레바논 정부군 병사들이 숨졌습니다. 충돌 이후 수 만명의 팔레스타인 난민들이 난민촌을 탈출했으나 아직 수 천명이 그대로 남아있습니다.
이슬람 민병대는 레바논군의 항복 요구를 거듭 거절하며 죽음의 항전을 벌이겠다고 다짐했습니다. 레바논 당국은 32명의 파타 알 이슬람 전투원들을 구금했다고 말하고 있습니다.

Lebanese artillery and tanks continued today (Saturday) to bombard Islamic militants inside a Palestinian refugee camp near Tripoli, in the latest of fighting that erupted nearly three weeks ago.
Heavy black smoke billowed from the Nahr el-Bared camp in northern Lebanon as Fatah al-Islam militants responded with machine gun fire and anti-tank rockets.
At least 115 people, including militants, civilians and nearly 50 soldiers have been killed since fighting broke out May 20th.
Tens of thousands of refugees have fled the camp, but thousands remain inside.
The militants have repeatedly refused government demands to surrender, and have vowed to fight to the death.
Lebanese authorities say they have in custody 32 Fatah al-Islam militants.
