독일에서 하일리겐담에서 오늘 열리는 주요 8개국 정상회의를 맞아 독일 경찰들이 삼엄한 경비를 펼치고 있는 가운데 6일 경찰과 시위대가 다시 충돌했습니다.
독일 경찰은 회의 개최지인 발트해 연안 하일리겐담과 인접한 로스톡시에서 차단선을 너머 회의장에 접근하려는 수 천명의 반세계화 시위자들을 저지하기 위해 물대포를 쐈습니다.
경찰은 시위대가 경찰에게 돌을 던지며 결렬한 시위를 벌이자 물대포를 사용하기 시작했다고 말했습니다. 그러나 이번 충돌로 인해 심각한 부상자가 발생했다는 보고는 아직 나오지 않고 있습니다.
독일 경찰당국은 시위자들이 로스탁 공항에서 행사장을 연결하는 2개의 도로를 가로막았다고 말했습니다.

German police guarding the Group of Eight summit near the Baltic coastal city of Rostock have fired water cannon at thousands of anti-globalization protesters trying to breach a security fence near the summit site.
Police say their tactics were used early today (Wednesday) after protesters began bombarding police with stones. No serious injuries were reported.
Authorities say protesters also briefly blocked two roadways leading from the Rostock airport and used to carry some foreign dignitaries to the summit site in Heiligendamm. Skirmishes also were reported in the nearby town of Bad Doberan.
Demonstrators also swarmed a railway line transporting journalists covering the meeting.
An estimated 100-thousand protesters backing a wide range of leftist causes are gathered near the summit site. Sixteen-thousand police are guarding a 12-kilometer-long fence topped with barbed wire that encloses the summit site.
