이라크 주둔 미국 연합군은 2일 테러분자 1명을 살해하고 국제테러조직 알 카에다의 이라크내 고위 간부 등 테러 용의자 8명을 구금했다고 밝혔습니다.
연합군은 성명에서 2일 히트에서 저항세력 급습작전중 테러 용의자들을 체포.구금했으며 이중 한 명은 알 안바르 주에서 활동하는 알 카에다의 고위급 간부들과 연계된 전투원이라고 말했습니다.
이런 가운데 저항세력이 이라크 유전의 심장부인 기루크쿠와 바그다드를 연결하는 고속도로의 한 다리를 폭격했다고 이라크 경찰이 밝혔습니다. 이번 공격으로 차량의 고속도로 주행이 전면 중단됐습니다.
한편 회교 수니파 전투원들과 알 카에다 무장세력이 수니파가 다수 거주하는 아미리야에서 몇일째 교전을 벌였습니다.
지역 주민들은 알 카에다 전투원들이 지난달 30일 이 지역으로 몰려온 이후 수니파 전투원들과 거리에서 교전을 펼쳤다고 말했습니다.

In other developments, police say insurgents bombed a key bridge on the highway connecting the oil hub of Kirkuk and Baghdad. The attack, the latest on Iraqi infrastructure, stopped all traffic along the road.
Meanwhile, residents of Baghdad's predominantly Sunni Amiriya neighborhood say al-Qaida fighters have been batting Sunni gunmen in the area for several days.
