레바논 북부 지역에서 20일 정부군과 회교 민병대원들간 전투가 벌어져 적어도 39명이 사망했다고 보안 관계관들이 밝혔습니다.
이같은 전투는 트리폴리 시와 팔레스타인 난민촌인 나르 알-바레드 부근에서 정부군과 팔레스타인 민병 조직인 파타 알-이슬람과의 사이에 벌어졌습니다.
보안 관계관들은 이번 전투에서 정부군 병사 22명과 민병대원 17명이 사망했다고 밝혔습니다. 또한 난민촌에서 민간인 적어도 6명이 사망했다는 보도도 나오고 있습니다.
레바논 경찰과 정부군 병사들은 오랜 합의에 따라 팔레스타인 난민촌에 진입하지 못합니다.
전투가 발생하자 시리아는 안보상의 우려로 레바논과의 두 접경 지역을 봉쇄했습니다.
당국자들은 이번 전투는 보안군 병력이 팔레스타인 난민촌 밖에서 한 은행 강도 용의자들을 연행하려할 때 시작됐다고 전했습니다.

Lebanese security officials say at least 39 people were killed in fighting today (Sunday) between troops and Islamic militants in the northern part of the country.
The fighting erupted with Fatah al-Islam in the city of Tripoli and the adjacent Palestinian refugee camp Nahr al-Bared. Militants also attacked an army patrol to the south.
Security officials say 22 soldiers and 17 militants were killed. There were also reports that at least six civilians were killed inside the camp.
By long-standing agreement, Lebanese police and soldiers do not enter Palestinian refugee camps.
After the fighting, Syria closed two border crossings with Lebanon because of security concerns.
Authorities say the fighting began when security forces tried to detain suspects in a bank robbery outside the refugee camp.
