이 방송에 따르면 무장괴한이 이라크인 카메라 지가 알라 울딘 아지즈와 음향기사 사이프 라이스 유수푸가 타고 있는 차를 공격했습니다. 이들은 업무를 마치고 귀가하던 중이었습니다.
ABC 방송의 테리 맥카시 바그다드 특파원은 숨진 언론인들의 용기와 공로에 찬사를 보냈으며, 이들을 잃어버린 것은 큰 아픔이라고 말했습니다. 언론 권익단체에 따르면 지난 2003년 이라크전이 시작된 후 100명 이상의 언론인이 숨졌습니다.
한편 이와 별도로 이라크 주둔 연합군은 바그다드에서 기습작전을 벌여서 이란으로 폭발물질을 반입한 용의자6명을 체포했다고, 이라크 주둔 미군 당국이 밝혔습니다.

The U.S. television network ABC says two Iraqi journalists from its Baghdad bureau have been ambushed and killed.
The network says unknown gunmen in Baghdad attacked the vehicle carrying cameraman Alaa Uldeen Aziz and soundman Saif Laith Yousuf as they were returning home from work late Thursday.
ABC's Baghdad correspondent Terry McCarthy praised the bravery and contributions of Iraqi camera crews, and he said the loss of the two journalists "hurt." Press rights groups report that more than 100 journalists, mostly Iraqis, have been killed since the war began in 2003.
Separately, the U.S. military said coalition forces detained six people during a raid in the Iraqi capital early today (Friday). It said the detainees are suspected of involvement in smuggling explosives from Iran.
