한국과 일본 관리들이 오늘(10일) 도쿄에서 제 6회 한일 안보정책협의회를 갖고 북한에 대해 핵무기 계획 폐기를 위한 초기단계조치를 조속히 이행하라고 촉구했습니다.
두 나라 관리들은 오늘 회의에서 북한 핵문제 해결을 위해 양국이 긴밀히 협조하기로 합의했습니다.
지난 2003년 이후 3년만에 재개된 이번 회의에서 한일 양국은 외교와 국방 당국자간 진지한 대화를 통해 동북아시아 안보 환경에 대한 인식 공유와 서로에 대한 이해를 제고한다는 데 의견을 같이하고 다음 회의를 조기에 갖기로 합의했습니다.

Japan and South Korea are calling on North Korea to start dismantling its nuclear weapons program as it promised in a six-party agreement in February.
Senior Japanese and South Korean diplomats issued the joint call after meeting today (Thursday) in Tokyo. They also agreed to work closely to resolve the North Korean nuclear dispute.
North Korea missed an April deadline to close its Yongbyon nuclear reactor under the terms of the six-party agreement. Pyongyang refuses to comply with the deal until it gets back 25 million dollars in North Korean funds being held in a Macau bank.
South Korea is optimistic the dispute will be resolved soon, but Japan has expressed frustration with North Korea's delay in beginning disarmament.
