미국의 억만장자 찰스 시모니 씨와 2명의 러시아 우주인을 태운 러시아 우주왕복선 소유즈호가 7일 국제우주정거장을 향해 성공적으로 발사됐습니다.
시모니 씨와 러시아의 두 우주인 표도르 유르치킨과 올레그 코토프는 이날 현지시각으로 자정 조금 못돼서 카자흐스탄의 바이코누르 우주발사기지에서 발사됐습니다.
우주인들은 우주정거장에서 6개월간 머물게 되며, 시모니 씨는 현재 우주정거장에 타고 있는 2명의 승무원과 함께 오는 4월 20일 지구로 귀환합니다.
시모니 씨는 돈을 내고 우주비행을 하는 다섯번째 민간인으로 그는 이번 여행을 위해 러시아 우주국과 미국 회사에 모두 2,000여만달러를 지불했습니다. 시모니 씨는 작년부터 모스크바 근교에서 우주비행훈련을 받았습니다.

The Russian spacecraft Soyuz (TMA-10) carrying U.S billionaire Charles Simonyi and two Russian cosmonauts has been successfully launched on its mission to the International Space Station.
Simonyi and Russian cosmonauts Fyodor Yurchikhin and Oleg Kotov lifted off from the
Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan just before midnight local time today (Saturday).
The cosmonauts will stay on the space station for six months, while Simonyi returns to earth April 20th with two members of the current space station crew.
Simonyi is the fifth person to buy a ride into space. The tourist paid the Russian space agency and a U.S. company more than 20 million dollars for the trip.
He has been training for the mission outside Moscow since last year. He will participate in experiments on radiation levels and biological organisms during his visit to the space station.
