유럽연합과 이란의 고위 관계자들은 이란의 핵 문제를 해결하기 위해 이란과 서방권간의 협상을 재개하기로 합의했습니다.
하비에르 솔라나 유럽연합 외교정책 대표와 알리 라리자니 이란 핵협상 대표는 26일 전화통화를 갖고 이같이 합의하고 빠른 시일 안에 다시 대화하기로 약속했습니다. 솔라나 대표는 전화통화에서 국제사회는 이란의 핵문제를 해결하기 위해 협상을 재개할 의지가 있음을 강조했다고 유럽연합 대변인은 전했습니다.
한편, 미국의 니컬러스 번스 국무부 정무차관은 26일 이란이 유엔의 핵 감시기구인 국제원자력기구 IAEA와 협력하지 않으면 이란은 국제사회로부터 더욱 고립될 것이라고 경고했습니다. 이란은 유엔 안전보장이사회가 자국의 우라늄 농축 중단 거부를 문제삼아 제재를 가한지 하루만인 지난 25일 IAEA와의 협력을 부분 중단하겠다고 말했습니다.

A top European envoy and a senior Iranian negotiator have agreed to continue talks aimed at resolving Tehran's dispute with the West over its nuclear program.
EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana and Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani spoke by telephone on Monday. An EU spokeswoman says Solana stressed the willingness of the international community to resume talks to resolve the standoff. She said the two men agreed to speak again soon.
Also Monday, a U.S. official (Under Secretary of State Nicholas Burns) warned Iran that failure to cooperate with the United Nations nuclear agency could lead to more isolation for Tehran.
Iran said Sunday it would scale back cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The announcement followed a U.N. Security Council vote to impose new sanctions on Iran for refusing to stop enriching uranium.
