중국의 관영 신화통신은 다음달 4월 초 중국의 전통 축제인 ‘청명절’ 기간 동안, 중국과 타이완 간의 새로운 직항 전세기가 운행될 것이라고 보도했습니다.
이번에 새로이 운행되는 직항기는 3월 30일부터 4월 8일까지 42회의 왕복운항을 하게됩니다. 중국과 타이완은 지난해 6월 공휴일 기간중에 정기적으로 전세 직항기를 운항하기로 합의한 바 있으며, 이번 ‘ 청명절’기간 중 직항기 운행도 이 합의의 일환으로 실시되는 것입니다.
양측은 지난해 6월 중국과 타이완 간의 공중, 해상 직항로 금지조치에 예외로 명절 기간 중 직항로를 개설하기로 합의를 이뤘습니다. 이러한 금지조치 때문에 중국과 타이완 양쪽을 오가는 사람들과 물자 수송은 반드시 홍콩과 같은 제 3국인을 통해서 이뤄져야 합니다.
중국 본토와 타이완의 경제교류는 양측의 오랜 정치적 마찰에도 불구하고가 활성화되고 있습니다. 중국은 타이완의 최대 투자 대상국이며 동시에 최대의 시장입니다.

China has announced a new round of charter flights with Taiwan for an upcoming traditional Chinese festival. (Qingming, the grave-sweeping festival.)
China's official news agency, Xinhua, says the schedule will include 42 round-trip flights from March 30th to April eighth. They are part of an agreement worked out last June to allow charter air service between the island and the mainland during major holidays.
The agreement made exceptions to a ban Taiwan has on direct air and sea links with China. The ban means that goods and people traveling between the two destinations must go through a third port, such as Hong Kong.
Economic ties between mainland China and Taiwan are thriving, despite long-standing political friction. China receives the largest share of Taiwan's investments, and is its largest market.
