모하메드 엘바라데이 국제원자력 기구(IAEA) 사무총장이 오늘 평양에 도착했습니다. 엘바라데이 사무총장은 이틀간 평양에 머물며 북한 관리들과 북한의 핵계획 종식을 돕기 위한 IAEA의 지원 방안에 관해 논의합니다.
엘바라데이 사무총장은 4년전 강제 추방된 IAEA 사찰단의 복귀 방법과 시기를 협의할 것이라고 말했습니다. IAEA 사찰단은 4월 중순까지 핵시설을 폐쇄하겠다고 합의한 북한의 이행 여부를 검증할 예정입니다.
북한은 지난달 6자회담 2.13 초기 단계 합의에서 에너지 또는 그에 상당하는 경제 지원과 외교관계 정상화 협의 착수 등에 대한 대가로 60일안에 핵시설을 폐쇄하겠다고 합의했습니다.
한편 다음 6자회담은 오는 19일 베이징에서 재개될 예정입니다.

The head of the United Nations nuclear agency is in North Korea to discuss how the agency can help Pyongyang end its nuclear program.
Mohamed ElBaradei of the International Atomic Energy Agency traveled to Pyongyang from Beijing today (Tuesday). He will spend two days in North Korea.
He says he will try to pave the way for the return of IAEA inspectors to North Korea, four years after they were kicked out. The inspectors would verify whether North Korea fulfills its pledge to shut down its main nuclear complex by mid-April.
North Korea agreed to the plan last month at six-nation negotiations in Beijing. In return, Pyongyang will receive fuel oil and diplomatic concessions.
Envoys from the six countries (- North and South Korea, the United States, Japan, China and Russia -) will meet again in Beijing March 19th.
