유엔 인권조사단은 수단 정부가 다르푸르 전쟁 범죄에 직접 관여했다고 비난했습니다.
유엔 인권조사단은 12일 스위스 제네바에서 발표한 보고서를 통해, 수단 정부가 다르푸르 주민들을 대규모 국제 범죄로부터 보호하는데 실패했을 뿐 아니라, 스스로 그같은 범죄들을 지휘하고 여기에 직접 관여했다고 말했습니다.
보고서는 수단 정부와 이른바 잔자위드 민병대가 주로 민간인들을 겨냥한 폭력적인 반 저항 운동을 전개했다고 지적했스니다.
유엔 인권이사회는 수단 서부 다르푸르 지역의 광범위한 인권 침해 의혹에 대한 조사를 위해 노벨 평화상 수상자인 조디 윌리암스 씨를 단장으로 하는 인권조사단을 파견했습니다.
수단 당국자들은 보고서에 대해 아직 아무런 반응도 보이지 않고 있습니다.
다르푸르 반군 단체들은 2003년 초 정부에 대한 반란을 시작했습니다. 그 이후 4년 간의 폭력으로20만 명 이상 사망했고, 적어도 2백만 명의 난민이 발생했습니다.

A U.N. human rights team has accused Sudan's government of direct involvement in war crimes in the Darfur region.
The U.N. team issued a report today (Monday) that says Sudan's government has "failed to protect the population of Darfur from large-scale international crimes, and has itself orchestrated and participated in these crimes."
The report says the government and so-called Janjaweed militia are waging a "violent
counterinsurgency campaign... that targets mostly civilians."
The team was headed by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Jody Williams, who was sent by the U.N. Human Rights Council to investigate charges of human rights abuses in Darfur.
There has been no reaction to the report from Sudanese officials.
Darfur rebel groups began revolting against the government in early 2003. Four years of violence since then has killed an estimated 200-thousand people, and displaced more than two million others.
