미국과 영국, 프랑스, 러시아, 중국, 그리고 독일 등 6 개국 대표들은 3일 지난 달 21일까지 우라늄 농축활동을 중단하라는 유엔안전보장이사회의 요구를 무시한 이란에 대해 추가 제재 결의안을 도출하기 위한 협의를 가졌습니다.
미국 관리들은 이번 협의에서 결의안 초안이 도출되길 희망했었습니다.
미국 국무부의 커티스 쿠퍼 대변인은 6개 나라가 이란에 대한 추가 제재안 논의를 뉴욕의 유엔에서 계속할 것이라고 말했습니다.
쿠퍼 대변인은 6개 나라가 가까운 시일안에 새로운 결의안 초안을 도출한다는 데 의견을 같이하고 있다고 말했습니다.
각 나라 외교 관리들은 6개 나라가 추가 제재 결의로 핵 활동에 연루된 이란 관리들의 해외 여행 금지와 지난해 12월에 부과된 결의안의 강도를 점진적으로 높이는 안 등을 검토하고 있다고 말하고 있습니다.

Six world powers have failed in a conference call to produce agreement on a new U.N. sanctions resolution aimed at pressuring Iran to suspend its nuclear program.
The United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany made their latest attempt Saturday to finalize a resolution for additional sanctions against Iran after it ignored another U.N. deadline to stop uranium enrichment (by February 21st).
U.S. officials said earlier they hoped a draft resolution would result from Saturday's talks.
A U.S. State Department spokesman (Kurtis Cooper) says the six nations will now move their discussions on Iran to the United Nations in New York. The U.S. spokesman says the parties remain committed to drafting a new resolution in the near future.
Diplomats say the six powers are considering a travel ban on Iranian officials involved in nuclear work, and a gradual tightening of other sanctions already imposed by the U.N. last December.
