U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says global warming poses as much of a threat to humanity as war.
Mr. Ban told a group of international students at the U.N. Thursday that climate change will diminish the Earth's natural resources, including fertile land due to drought. Mr. Ban says the conditions will be a major contributor to wars and conflict as people fight over such resources.
He says global warming transcends borders, and he plans to address the issue during a summit of the world's leading industrialized nations in June.
