딕 체니 미국 부통령과 하미드 카르자이 아프가니스탄 대통령의 회담이 악천후로 연기됐습니다.
카르자이 대통령 대변인은 계속된 눈 때문에 바그람에 있는 미군 기지에서 카불 까지 50킬로미터의 헬리콥터 비행이 위험하다고 판단했다며 연기 이유를 밝혔습니다.
체니 부통령 측도 회담 일정을 새로 정할 것이라고 말했습니다.
앞서 파키스탄의 페르베즈 무샤라프 대통령과 만난 체니 부통령은 26일 아프가니스탄에 도착했습니다. 아프가니스탄 방문 계획은 앞서 공개되지 않았었습니다.
한편 체니 부통령은 파키스탄에서 탈레반 반군 세력의 재규합을 경고했습니다. 이들이 아프가니스탄을 공격하기 위해 국경인근 파키스탄 외곽지역에서 세력을 모으고 있다는 것입니다.
파키스탄 관리들은 체니 부통령이 무샤라프 대통령의 대테러 노력에 찬사를 보내면서도, 더 많은 조치를 취할 것을 촉구했다고 전했습니다.
무샤라프 대통령은 파키스탄 정부가 국경 보안과 반군 퇴치를 위해 최선을 다하고 있다는 입장을 다시 한 번 밝혔습니다.

Serbian President Boris Tadic is hailing the World Court ruling that his country was not guilty of genocide during the conflict of the 1990s in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Mr. Tadic called today's (Monday's) ruling by the International Court of Justice in The Hague "very important." He then urged his people to face up to the massacre by Serb forces of up to eight thousand Muslim men and boys following the 1995 capture of the enclave of Srebrenica.
Judge Rosalyn Higgins said Serb forces were in fact responsible for the deaths. But she said it had not been established that the massacre was carried out on orders from Belgrade.
In Washington, a State Department spokesman (Sean McCormack) called the decision another opportunity for the people of the region to proceed on the path of reconciliation. At the same time he stressed the need for the arrest of fugitive war crimes suspects.
