웬디 커틀러 미국측 수석대표는15일, 현재까지 이번 7차협상이 가장 성공적인 것으로 생각된다고 말했습니다.
커틀러 대표는 발표할 만한 중대한 돌파구는 없지만 앞으로 전망은 아주 좋다고말했습니다.
김종훈 한국 수석대표도 실질적 협상 타결을 위한 기반을 마련했다고 밝히고 그러나 최종협상까지는 아직도 해결해야할 쟁점들이 많이 남아있다고 말했습니다.
커틀러 대표는 전자제품에 대한 관세자유,화학제품이나 의약품, 플라스틱등의 원산지 표기에 관한 협상은 타결됐다고 밝혔습니다.

The United States says it made good progress in talks with South Korea this week in long-running negotiations on a free trade agreement.
The chief U.S. negotiator, Wendy Cutler, said today (Thursday) that in her view, the seventh, and most recent, round of discussions was the most successful so far.
She said that while she has no major breakthrough to announce, there is now a clear path forward.
She said there is agreement in areas such as duty-free status for electronic products, and rules of origin for chemicals, pharmaceuticals and plastics. The so-called "rules of origin" are important in deciding duties, trademarks and safeguard measures.
The U.S. and South Korea are trying to increase bilateral trade that already topped more than 70-billion dollars last year.
