이란의 모하메드 알리 호세이니 외무장관은 12일 그 같은 주장을 받아들일 수 없다며 미국이 증거를 조작하고 있다고 비난했습니다.
미국의 고위 관리들은 앞서 11일 바그다드에서 기자들에게 미군을 겨냥해 사용된 지뢰 등 도로변 폭발물들이 이란에서 제조됐다는 증거를 확보하고 있다고 말했었습니다.
미국 관리들은 이 폭발물로 인해 지난 2004년 이후 적어도 170명의 미연합군 병사들이 살해됐으며 무기들이 이란혁명수비대 요원들에 의해 이라크로 밀반입됐다고 말했습니다.

An Iranian foreign ministry spokesman (Mohammad Ali Hosseini) said today (Monday) the U.S. charges are "unacceptable" and accused Washington of fabricating evidence.
On Sunday, a group of senior U.S. officials in Baghdad showed journalists what they said was proof that Iranian-made roadside bombs were being used against American forces.
The U.S. officials, who remained anonymous, said the explosives had killed at least 170 coalition troops in Iraq since 2004. They said the devices were smuggled into Iraq by Iranian agents working for Iran's Revolutionary Guards.
The top U.S. military officer, General Peter Pace, said today that it is clear materials from Iran are involved, but he said he does not know if the Iranian government is complicit.
