한국 여수 출입국관리사무소의 외국인 보호시설에서 불이나 중국인 여덟 명 등 외국인 아홉 명이 사망하고 열 여덟 명이 부상했습니다.
한국 관계관들은 11일, 출입국 사무소 불법체류자 수용실에서 불이나 사상자가 발생했다고 밝히고 부상자들 가운데 많은 사람들이 중태에 빠져있기 때문에 사망자가 더 늘어날 것으로 보인다고 말했습니다.
화재원인은 곧바로 밝혀지지 않고 있습니다.
불이난 불법 체류자 수용소에는 본국으로 추방되는 약 50명의 외국인들이 수용돼 있었습니다.

A fire at a detention center in South Korea has killed at least nine foreigners, mostly Chinese.
Officials say at least 18 others were injured in the pre-dawn fire today (Sunday) at the detention center in the southern city of Yeosu. They say the death toll is likely to rise as many of the injured are in serious condition.
Officials say at least one Uzbek was killed in the blaze.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
The detention center housed about 50 migrants who were waiting to be deported.
