인도의 S.P. 트야기 공군 참모총장은 국가 군현대화 계획의 일환으로 인도가 러시아산 스호이-30 전투기 40대를 구매할 것이라고 밝혔습니다.
트야기 참모총장은 인도정부는 한대당 4천만달러를 홋가하는 스호이-30 전투기에 총 16억 달러를 지출할 것이라고 말했습니다. 트야기 참모총장은 또 오는 3월 말에 이 구매협상이 서명될 것이라고 말했습니다.
한편 A.K 안토니 인도 국방장관은 7일, 인도정부는 공군 전투기 126대를 50억 달러 이상에 구매할 것이라고 말한 바 있습니다.
AP통신은 마헤시 우파사 인도 공군 대변인의 말을 인용해 이같은 공군 전투기 구매 주문은 스호이 전투기 40대 구매에 이어 추가로 이뤄지는 것이라고 보도했습니다.

India's air force chief says the government will buy 40 Russian-made Sukhoi-30 fighter jets under the Indian military's modernization program.
S.P. Tyagi says the government will spend one-point-six billion dollars on the Sukhoi-30 jets, which will cost 40-million dollars each. He expects the deal to be signed by the end of March.
Tyagi spoke today (Thursday) on the sidelines of the Aero India aviation show in the southern Indian city of Bangalore.
Wednesday, India's defense minister (A.K. Anthony) said the government plans to buy 126 combat aircraft for its air force at a cost of more than five billion dollars.
The Associated Press quotes an Indian air force spokesman (Mahesh Upasani) as saying the aircraft orders will be in addition to the purchase of the 40 Sukhoi jets.
About 500 aviation companies from around the world are participating in the five-day Aero India show, which ends Sunday.
