페더러 선수는 이번 우승으로 그랜드 슬램, 즉 주요 대회에서 열번째 우승한 기록을 세웠습니다. 그랜드 슬램 타이틀을 열 번 이상 거머쥔 남자 선수는 페더러를 포함해 다섯명 뿐입니다.
페더러 선수는 이번 대회 기간동안 한 세트도 빼앗기지 않는 기염을 토했습니다.
이같은 기록은 지난 1980년 프랑스 오픈 대회에서 스웨덴의 비외른 보리 선수가 세운 이후 이번이 처음입니다.

World number one men's tennis player Roger Federer of Switzerland has won the Australian Open championship in Melbourne, his 10th career Grand Slam title.
The top seed and defending champion beat 10th seeded Chilean challenger Fernando Gonzalez in today's (Sunday's) final in straight sets (7-6, 6-4, 6-4) for his third Australian Open crown.
Federer is only the fifth man in tennis history to win 10 major tournament titles.
The Swiss star did not lose a single set the entire tournament. He is the first player to do so in 27 years (since Sweden's Bjorn Borg at the 1980 French Open).
American Serena Williams won her third career women's Australian Open title Saturday.
