이라크 수도 바그다드에서 28일 시아파 회교도 정부관리 1 명을 포함해 최소한 15명이 살해됐다고 이라크 경찰이 밝혔습니다.
경찰은 바그다드 서부 야르무크 구역에서 무장괴한들이 자동차를 매복공격해 아델 압둘-메순 알-라미 이라크 산업부 사무국장과 알-라미 사무국장의 딸, 운전기사와 경호원이 숨졌다고 말했습니다.
또한 28일 바그다드내 수니파 구역에 있는 한 여학교에 포탄이 떨어져 최소한 여학생 4 명이 숨졌습니다.
이 밖에도 바그다드 여러 지역에서 폭탄테러 공격으로 또다른 7명이 숨졌습니다. 바그다드 남부 나자프 시에서는 미군 헬기 한 대가 폭도들의 총격으로 추락했다고 목격자들이 전하고 있으나 미군 당국은 아직 이같은 보도를 확인하지 않고 있습니다.
한편 이라크 당국은 이번 주에 열리는 이슬람 최대 축제인 아슈라에 참가할 시아파 순례자들을 보호하기 위해 이라크 군인과 경찰 수천명을 카르바라에 배치하고 있습니다.
또한 미군은 이라크 전역에서 테러용의자 21명을 생포했다고 밝혔습니다.

Iraqi police say attacks in Baghdad have killed at least fifteen people, including a senior Shi'ite government official.
Police say gunmen ambushed a vehicle carrying the director-general of Iraq's Industry Ministry (Adel Abdul-Mehsun al-Lami) in western Baghdad's Yarmouk district. The official's daughter, driver and bodyguard also were killed.
Also today, mortars landed on a girl's school in a Sunni district of the capital, killing at least four girls.
Bomb attacks in several Baghdad neighborhoods killed another seven people.
Witnesses in the holy city of Najaf, south of Baghdad, say insurgents have shot down a U.S. helicopter there. The U.S. military has not commented.
Also south of Baghdad, Iraqi soldiers and police are deploying around the city of Karbala to provide security for Shi'ite pilgrims during the solemn observances of Ashura this week.
And the U.S. military says it has captured 21 suspected terrorists across Iraq.
