북한의 핵무기 개발 계획을 포기하도록 설득하기 위한 6자 회담 미국측 수석 대표인 크리스토퍼 힐 국무부 동아시아 태평양 담당 차관보가 차기 6자 회담 준비를 위해 중국을 방문하고 있습니다.
힐 차관보는 미국과 남북한, 중국, 일본, 러시아가 참여하는 6자 회담 속개 일정을 정하기 위해 21일 베이징에 도착했습니다.
힐 차관보는 차기 6자 회담에 관한 발표가 있기에 앞서 중국은 다른 당사국들과 가능한 일정에 관해 논의해야할 것이라고 말했습니다.
힐 차관보는 베이징에 머무르는 동안 중국의 우다웨이 수석대표에게 지난 주 독일 베를린에서 북한의 김계관 수석 대표와 가졌던 회담 내용에 관해 설명할 예정입니다.
한편 러시아 관계관들은 김계관 수석 대표가 러시아의 알렉산드르 로슈코프 외무차관과 6자 회담 문제를 논의하기 위해 현재 모스크바를 방문 중이라고 밝혔습니다.

The top U.S. negotiator on North Korea's nuclear program is in China to prepare for another round of talks aimed at dismantling Pyongyang's nuclear weapons program.
U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill flew to Beijing today (Sunday) to try to set a date for talks involving the United States, North and South Korea, China, Japan and Russia.
Hill said the Chinese will have to discuss any possible date with the other nations before the next round of discussions can be announced.
While in Beijing, Hill will brief China's chief negotiator (, Wu Dawei,) about talks he held this past week in Germany with his North Korean counterpart, Kim Kye Kwan.
Meanwhile, Russian officials say Kim is in Moscow today (Sunday) to discuss the nuclear talks with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Losyukov.
