홍콩에 있는 야생 조류가 인간에게도 치명적인 위험 가능성이 있는 조류 독감 바이러스에 양성 반응을 보인 것은 이달들어 두번째입니다.
관리들은 지난 9일 홍콩시의 콜룬지역에서 죽은채 발견됐던 조류는 볏있는 참매의 일종이라고 말했습니다.
이보다 며칠전에는 얼룩무늬 납부리새 한마리가 역시 H5N1바이러스 양성반응을 보인 바 있습니다.
한편 중국의 CHINA DAILY 신문은 중국 정부는 조류독감과 같은 동물 관련 질병 퇴치를 위해 향후 2년간 10억 달러 이상의 예산을 투입할 것이라고 밝혔습니다.

Hong Kong authorities have confirmed that a wild bird found dead in the city last week was infected with the H5N1 bird flu virus.
It is the second time this month that a wild bird in Hong Kong has tested positive for the virus, which is potentially lethal to humans.
Officials say the latest case involved a bird of prey known as a crested goshawk, which was found in city's Kowloon area January 9th. Several days earlier, a dead scaly-breasted munia also tested positive for H5N1.
In another development, the official China Daily newspaper says Beijing will spend more than one-billion dollars over the next two years to fight animal-borne diseases such as bird flu. The money will be used to establish a national epidemic-prevention system and to train more veterinarians.
