그러나 한국 관리들은 그런 움직임이 2차 핵실험을 준비하기 위한 것으로 보기 어렵다고 말했습니다.
맥코맥 대변인은 또 북한은 추가 핵실험을 실시할 것이라는 정치적 조짐을 보이지 않고 있다고 말했습니다.
북한은 지난해 10월 지하 핵실험을 실시해 국제사회의 제재와 규탄을 받았습니다.
한편, 맥코맥 대변인은 미국은 지난달 중국 베이징에서 열린 회담에 이어 6자회담이 이달 중에 재개될 것으로 예상한다고 말했습니다.

The United States has warned North Korea that any new nuclear tests by Pyongyang would have severe consequences for the six-party talks on its nuclear program.
The U.S. position was put forward by State Department spokesman Sean McCormack (Friday), as officials in South Korea said they have noticed activity near a suspected nuclear test site in North Korea.
South Korean officials stopped short of saying the activity was preparation for a second nuclear test, and McCormack said Pyongyang has given no political indication that this is its intention.
North Korea carried out an underground nuclear test in October, prompting international sanctions and worldwide condemnation.
Stalled six-party talks on North Korea's nuclear program reconvened last month. They ended without any breakthroughs, but McCormack said the U.S. expects they could reconvene as early as this month.
