최근 태풍으로 인해 연기된 동남아시아 국가연합-아세안 정상회의가 내년 1월에 열릴 것 같다고 조직위원회 측이 밝혔습니다.
아세안 정상회의 조직위원회의 마르시아노 파이노르 위원장은 10일 필리핀 세부에서 오는 1월 11일부터 13일까지 회의를 개최하는데 대부분의 회원국들의 동의했다고 말했습니다.
파이노르 위원장은 회원국 지도자들이 이를 승인해야하는 절차가 남아있다며 중국, 일본, 한국 등 동아시아 3개국을 포함한 아세안 + 3 정상회의는 당초 계획처럼 동시에 개최되기 어려울 지 모른다고 말했습니다.
아세안 정상회의와 아세안 + 3 정상회의는 11일 세부에서 열릴 예정이었으나 글로리아 아로요 필리핀 대통령은 이 지역에 태풍이 강타할 지 모른다는 예보가 나오자 회의를 연기시켰습니다.

Organizers of the annual meeting of Southeast Asian leaders say the event likely will be held in the Philippines in January, after being postponed due to weather concerns.
The head of the summit organizing committee (Marciano Paynor) said today (Sunday) most members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations have agreed to hold the meeting from January 11th through January 13th.
Speaking in the Philippines island of Cebu, he said the leaders still must approve the schedule, and that a broader East Asia Summit might not take place at the same time, as originally planned.
The two events were set to begin Monday in Cebu.
However, the government of President Gloria Arroyo called off the summit expressing concern about an incoming typhoon.
