부시 대통령은 앞으로 약 한시간 반뒤인 오전 10시 백악관에서 제임스 베이커 전 국무장관과 리 해밀턴 전 의원이 공동위원장으로 있는 이라크 정책 검토위원회의 위원 10명 전원과 만날 예정입니다 .
위원들은 또 공식 기자회견을 갖기에 앞서 의회 지도자들과 만날 예정입니다
ISG의 보고서내용중 많은 부분은 이미 국내 언론에 유출되었습니다. 새로운 보도는 이라크주둔 미군임무를 기존의 전투중심에서 지원 역할로 크게 전환할것을 ISG가 촉구하고 있다고 보도하고 있습니다
언론들은 ISG는 부시 대통령에게 2천 8년 초까지 대부분의 미군들이 전투 임무에서 벗어나는 것을 목표로 조치를 취할 것을 촉구할 것이라고 전하고 있습니다.
ISG는 또 이라크의 안정을 실현하기 위해 이스라엘과 팔레스타인사이의 포괄적인 평화계획을 포함해 보다 폭넓은 지역적 접근방안을 촉구할 예정입니다.

A bipartisan group studying the way forward for the United States in Iraq has given what President Bush calls a "very tough assessment" of the conflict.
Mr. Bush said the report from the Iraq Study Group has interesting proposals that he will take seriously. Among the recommendations are a new diplomatic push in the Middle East, including contacts with Iran and Syria, and a shift of the U.S. role from combat to support for Iraqi forces.
The panel formally delivered its much-anticipated report to the president today (Wednesday) at the White House, after spending months assessing the situation in Iraq. The president met with the group for about an hour.
The 10-member panel is co-chaired by former Secretary of State James Baker and former Congressman Lee Hamilton. It will brief congressional leaders before releasing the report to the public later today.
News agencies that saw early copies of the report say it calls for a major shift in the U.S. mission in Iraq, with a target of moving most U.S. troops out of their combat roles by early 2008.
