Iraqi police have found 60 bodies in different areas around Baghdad since Sunday -- the apparent victims of rampant sectarian violence.
Officials said the bodies showed signs of torture.
Earlier today (Monday), Iraqi police said they found the bodies of 14 other people -- believed to be Sunni Arabs -- near Dujail north of Baghdad.
Two Iraqi Shi'ite officials also escaped apparent assassination attempts around Baghdad Monday. Deputy Health Minister Hakim al-Zamily told reporters two of his bodyguards died when his convoy was ambushed in central Baghdad (al-Fadhil district).
No one was injured when a roadside bomb struck Junior Minister Mohammed al-Oreibi's convoy south of Baghdad.
