오스틴 새 국장은 세계적인 금융 정보 써비스 기업, 다우존스 계열사인 오타웨이 신문사 이사장직을 지냈으며 보수성향의 유력 경제 일간신문인 월 스트릿 저널에서 근무했습니다.
미국 방송 위원회는 미국의 소리 VOA 방송과 다른 정부 산하 방송 기관들을 감독하는 미국 정부 산하 독립 기구입니다.

The U.S. Broadcasting Board of Governors has named media executive Danforth W. Austin as the new director of the Voice of America. Austin was previously the chairman of Ottaway Newspapers, a subsidiary of Dow Jones and Company, and has served in several positions with the Wall Street Journal.
He replaces David Jackson, who has been VOA director since September 2002. The Broadcasting Board of Governors oversees the Voice of America and other U.S. government broadcasters.
The board has also named Russell Hodge as the new director of VOA Television. Hodge is a television producer and the founder and president of Three Roads Communications, a programming, video production, and communications company.
