60퍼센트 이상 개표가 끝난 가운데, 억만장자 출신의 알바로 노보아 후보가 27퍼센트 득표로 선두를 달리고 있습니다. 우고 차베스 베네수엘라 대통령의 동맹자인 좌파 경제학자 라파엘 코레아 후보는 22퍼센트 득표에 그쳤습니다.
에콰도르 선거법에 따르면, 대통령에 당선되기 위해서는 1차 투표에서 과반수 이상을 득표하거나, 최소한 40퍼센트의 득표율에다 2위 후보와의 차이가 10퍼센트 포인트 이상이 돼야 합니다. 결선 투표는 11월 26일로 예정돼 있습니다.

Ecuador is headed for a run-off presidential election after two main rivals appear to have failed to gain enough votes for an outright victory.
With more than 60 percent of the ballots counted from Sunday's vote, billionaire Alvaro Noboa led with 27 percent of the votes. Leftist economist Rafael Correa, an ally of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, had 22 percent.
Under Ecuadorean law, candidates need more than half of the votes, or 40 percent with a 10 percentage point advantage over the nearest rival to win the presidency. The runoff election is scheduled for November 26th.
Noboa and Correa have run on populist platforms, promising to improve the lives of Ecuador's poorest citizens.
There were 11 other candidates on the ballot.
