아프가니스탄에서는 탈레반 반군들이 올들어 78건의 자살공격을 감행해 약 2백명이 사망했다고 북대서양조약기구, 나토 관계자들이 말했습니다.
관계자들은 올해 자살공격 수는 2005년에 비해 거의 4배에 달하며 희생자 대부분은 아프가니스탄 민간인들이라고 밝혔습니다.
나토는 자살테러범들의 공격으로 아프가니스탄 민간인 142명과 보안요원 40명, 외국군 병사 13명이 사망했다고 말했습니다.
나토는 또 자살공격은 아프간 일각에서 반군들에 의한 저항활동이 활발해지고 있는 데 따른 것이라고 말했습니다.
한편 아프가니스탄군과 미군이 주도하는 연합군이 7일 동부 팍티카주에서 탈레반 반군 5명을 사살하고 1명을 체포했다고 아프가니스탄 국방부가 밝혔습니다.

NATO officials say Taleban militants have carried out 78 suicide attacks in Afghanistan this year, killing nearly 200 people.
Officials say the number of suicide attacks this year is almost four times the number of attacks reported in 2005.
The majority of the victims have been Afghan civilians.
NATO says suicide attackers killed 142 Afghan civilians, forty members of the Afghan security forces and 13 foreign soldiers. It says the attacks are part of an intensified Taleban insurgency in parts of the country.
Meanwhile, the Afghan Defense Ministry says Afghan and U.S.-led troops killed five Taleban insurgents and captured one in the eastern province of Paktika on Saturday.
