Thai authorities have deported American John Mark Karr to the United States for questioning in the death of child beauty pageant winner JonBenet Ramsey.
Thai officials say Karr -- accompanied by U.S. officials -- flew out of Bangkok for the U.S. today (Sunday) on a commercial flight to Los Angeles.
Karr faces charges of murder, kidnapping and child sexual assault in connection with JonBenet's 1996 killing in Boulder, Colorado.
The former school teacher was arrested in Thailand Wednesday.
Karr says he was with the six-year-old girl when she died in late 1996. He insists her death was accidental, despite evidence the victim was beaten and strangled.
Despite the admission, doubts remain about Karr's guilt. His former wife says he was with her elsewhere in the United States (in the southern state of Alabama) when JonBenet's parents found their murdered daughter in the basement of their home.
