아시아 11개국의 보건 관계관들은 방글라데시의 수도 다카에서 만나 후천성면역결핍증, 에이즈나 말라리아, 조류독감과 같은 질병에 대한 대처 방안을 논의합니다.
방글라데시의 칼레다 지아 총리는 이들 참가국들이 전례없는 전염병 발생 위협에 처해있다면서 지방 정부들은 이들 질병을 방지할 적절한 방안을 모색해야 할 것이라고 말했습니다.
이틀 일정의 이번 회의에는 방글라데시와 부탄, 버마, 몰디브, 네팔, 북한, 태국, 동티모르 그리고 스리랑카의 보건 장관들과 인도와 인도네시아의 보건부 관계관등이 참가합니다.
세계보건기구, WHO의 보다 폭넓은 지역 회의는 22일 다카에서 개최될 예정입니다.

Health officials from 11 Asian nations are meeting in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, to discuss the fight against diseases such as AIDS, malaria and bird flu.
Bangladeshi Prime Minister Khaleda Zia told the participants the region faces unprecedented threats from emerging infectious diseases. She said local governments must find affordable methods to contain these diseases.
The two-day meeting includes the health ministers from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burma, the Maldives, Nepal, North Korea, Thailand, East Timor and Sri Lanka, and health ministry officials from India and Indonesia.
A broader regional conference of the World Health Organization is scheduled to begin in Dhaka on August 22nd.
