Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali says Hezbollah is making a "heroic" stand against what he calls savage aggression, and he has pledged Iran's support for Lebanon in the fight against Israel.
In a speech today (Wednesday) in Tehran (broadcast by state television), the ayatollah condemned Israel and the United States, which he said is practically Israel's partner in the current conflict.
Ayatollah Khamenei called on Muslims everywhere to unite and resist Israel and its allies.
The Iranian leader also criticized the United Nations for remaining "callously" indifferent to what he called the "heinous crimes" committed at Qana -- the town in southern Lebanon where more than 50 civilians died (Sunday) in the ruins of a building that had been bombed by Israel.
He called on nations of the Mideast to unite against Israel and its accomplices -- the United States and Britain.
Addressing the Muslim youth world wide, the Iranian leader said they must know that "resistance" is the only way to confront, what he called, " the wild wolf of Zionism and the aggression by the Great Satan."
