중국에서 가장 인구가 많은 도시 샹하이가 핵공격이나 다른 재난 등이 발생했을 경우 주민들을 보호하기 위한 대규모의 지하 대피소를 건설했다고 중국의 관영 신문이 보도했습니다.
샹하이 모닝 포스트 신문은 이 대피소는 면적 9만 평방미터로 쇼핑센터와 사무실, 아파트등과 연결돼 있으며 일련의 터널이 갖추어져 있고 지하철과도 연결돼 있다고 보도했습니다.
이 신문은 지하 대피소에 20만명이 최장 15일동안 생명을 지탱할 수 있을 것이라고 전했습니다. 샹하이 시의 전체 인구는 2천만명에 육박하고 있습니다.

A state-controlled newspaper in China says the country's most populous city, Shanghai, has built a vast, underground bunker to protect people in the event of a nuclear attack or other calamity.
The "Shanghai Morning Post" reports the facility is 90-thousand square meters and connects to shopping centers, office buildings and apartment blocks through a series of tunnels. The newspaper says the bunker links to the city's subway system, as well.
The paper says the facility can support 200-thousand people for up to 15 days. The Shanghai municipality's population is approaching 20 million.
The exact location of the bunker was not mentioned.
