조지 부쉬 미국 대통령과 후진타오 중국 국가주석은 북한의 핵 계획 포기를 설득하기 위한 6자회담의 재개를 거듭 촉구했습니다.
두 정상은 러시아의 상트 페테르부르크에서 열린 선진 8개국, G-8 정상회의 도중 만나 이같이 말했습니다.
부쉬 대통령은 중국이 이달초 이뤄진 북한의 미사일 시험발사를 비난하는 유엔 안전보장이사회의 결의안을 미국과 함께 지지한데 대해 후 주석에게 감사의 뜻을 밝혔습니다.
후 주석은 이에 대해 6자회담이 궁극적으로 한반도 전체의 비핵화로 이어질 것이라는 희망을 강조했습니다.

The leaders of the United States and China have repeated a call for the resumption of six-nation talks aimed at persuading North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons.
President Bush and his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao issued the call after talks on the sidelines of the Group of Eight summit in the Russian city of St. Petersburg.
Mr. Bush thanked the Chinese leader for joining the United States in backing a U.N. Security Council resolution that condemned North Korea for launching a series of missiles earlier this month.
In reply, Mr. Hu stressed his country's hopes that the talks will eventually lead to peacefully de-nuclearising the entire Korean Peninsula.
