중국 당국은 북부 산시성의 한 민가에서 보관해오던 폭발물이 터져 적어도 47명이 사망하고 20명이 부상했다고 밝혔습니다.
중국 관영 신화통신은 이번 폭발이 현지시각으로 7일 오전 산시성 닝우현의 동즈하이 마을에서 발생했다고 전했습니다. 신화통신은 많은 희생자들이 이날 민가에서 발생한 화재를 지켜보다가 폭탄이 터지면서 참변을 당했다고 보도했습니다.
그러나 정확한 폭발 원인은 아직 밝혀지지 않은 채 현재 조사가 진행중인것으로 알려지고 있습니다. 중국에서는 민가에 탄광용 폭발물과 폭죽놀이용 제품을 불법 보관하다가 폭발하는 사례가 자주 발생하고 있으며 탄광이 많은 북부 산시성은 특히 폭발 사고가 잦은 것으로 현지 언론들은 보도하고 있습니다.

Chinese officials say at least 47 people were killed and more than 20 others injured when explosives stored in a villager's home blew up in the northern province of Shanxi.
China's official Xinhua news agency says the accident happened early today (Friday) in the Ningwu county village of Dongzhai.
Xinhua says many of those killed had come to the scene of a house fire, which appears to have triggered the explosion. However, the exact cause of the blast is under investigation.
Improperly stored explosives, such as those used for mining and fireworks, blow up fairly often in China. Shanxi province has many coal mines in which explosives are used.
