이들 두 지도자는 부쉬 대통령 부인 로라 여사와 함께 30일 미국 록앤롤의 제왕인 엘비스 프레슬리의 생가인 테네시주 멤피스 소재 그레이스랜드를 방문합니다. 고이즈미 총리는 프레슬리의 열렬한 팬입니다.
앞서 29일 부쉬 대통령과 고이즈미 총리는 백악관에서 북한의 장거리 미사일 가능성 문제에 관해 논의하고 북한에게 미사일 시험 발사를 강행하지 말 것을 경고했습니다. 두 지도자는 또한 북한의 핵무기 개발 계획을 종식시키기 위한 6자 회담에 관해서도 논의했습니다.
President Bush and Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi wrap up their two-day meeting with a visit today (Friday) to Elvis Presley's mansion.
The two leaders, accompanied by Mrs. Bush, will tour Graceland - the Memphis, Tennessee estate of the late "King of Rock and Roll." Mr. Koizumi is an avid Presley fan.
The president and the prime minister discussed North Korea's possible test-fire of a long-range missile during talks at the White House Thursday. They warned Pyongyang not to carry out a test. Mr. Bush said it would be "unacceptable," and Mr. Koizumi warned of "various pressures" on the Stalinist state if it goes ahead with a test.
Mr. Bush said he and Mr. Koizumi also discussed the six-party talks aimed at ending North Korea's nuclear program.
