President Bush is meeting with his top civilian and military advisors to plan the future U.S. role in Iraq.
Mr. Bush today (Monday) opened two days of high-level consultations to reassess strategy on Iraq in the aftermath of the completion of the Iraqi Cabinet, and the death of terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
The meeting at the Camp David presidential retreat outside Washington includes top U.S. officials, and by teleconference the top U.S. commander in Iraq, General George Casey, and officials in the new Iraq government.
General Casey said Sunday he would not present the meeting with a plan to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq, but does expect to see continued gradual reductions over coming months and into next year.
