부쉬 미국 대통령은 이란 정부는 미국과 유럽동맹국의 최근제안에 대한 답변을 여러 달이 아니라 몇주 안에 해야 한다고 말했습니다.
부쉬 대통령은 이란이 우라늄 농축을 중단한다면 회담을 하겠다고 제의하면서 이는 미국의 전술이 바뀐 것이지만 전략이 바뀐것은 아니라고 말했습니다. 이란은 앞서 검증할수 있는 방식으로 우라늄 농축을 중단하겠다고 밝힌바 있습니다.
부쉬 대통령은 이란 정부가 이제 그같은 말이 진정인지를 보여줄 때라고 지적했습니다. 부쉬 대통령은 만약 이란이 검증 가능한 방식으로 우라늄 농축을 중단하지 않는다면 그들은 그로 인한 결과에 직면할 것이라고 말했습니다.
부쉬 대통령은 9일 덴마크의 안데르스 포그 라스무센 총리와 회담을 한 다음 그와같이 말했습니다. 라스무센 총리는 이란에 대한 일괄타결안을 제시하는데 미국이 유럽 동맹국과 보조를 같이 한데 기쁘다고 말했습니다.
일괄타결안의 인센티브가 무엇인지는 아직도 상세히 공개되지는 않았지만 이란의 세계무역 기구 가입, 핵 발전소 건설 지원, 미국산 항공기 부품 구입 허용등이 포함된 것으로 알려져 있습니다.

By offering to meet with Iran if it agrees to suspend uranium enrichment, President Bush says the move represents a shift in U.S. tactics, not in strategy.Iran has previously said it will verifiably suspend enriching uranium.
President Bush says it is time now to see whether the government in Tehran means it."If they choose not to suspend verifiably, there must be a consequence," said Mr. Bush. The president spoke following talks with Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
The prime minister said he is pleased that Washington has joined European allies in presenting a unified package of proposals to Tehran.
Details of those incentives are still sketchy, but are thought to include support for Iran joining the World Trade Organization, help in building a nuclear power plant, and the suspension of some U.S. trade sanctions that prevent Iran from buying spare parts for an aging fleet of American-made aircraft.
