Officials from 10 nations in the Black Sea region are holding a conference in Romania's capital, Bucharest, to discuss regional cooperation.
Today's (Monday's) Black Sea summit is expected to focus on setting up new energy routes to ensure a stable supply between Central Asia and Europe.
Participants are also set to discuss fighting organized crime, terrorism and environmental issues.
Presidents attending the summit include those from host-nation Romania, Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Azerbaijan. Other high-level officials have been sent by Greece, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Turkey.
The presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia are expected to hold side talks on the status of the Nagorno-Karabakh region. The enclave is an internationally recognized part of Azerbaijan but under de facto control of Armenian separatists.
