수관하 중국 과학기술부 부장은 관영 신화통신과의 회견에서 이 원자로가 중국 동부 하이파이에 건설될 것이라고 말했습니다. 수 부장은 중국의 원자로는 국제사회가 프랑스에 대형 실험용 핵융합 원자로를 건설하기에 앞서 완성될 것이라고 말했습니다.
수 장관은 국제사회의 핵융합 원자로 건설은 앞으로 10년은 걸려야 완성될 것이라고 덧붙였습니다.

Chinese officials say they expect to complete construction of a nuclear fusion reactor by the end of this year, giving them a head-start on the technology before the rest of the world.
China's Minister of Science and Technology, Xu Guanhua, tells the official state news agency that the reactor will be built in the east China provincial capital of Hefei.
He says it will be completed ahead of an international effort to build a giant experimental fusion reactor in France.
Xu says the international project is not expected to be completed for another ten years. He says the smaller Chinese reactor will allow scientists to conduct preliminary research on fusion technology.
Nuclear fusion mimics the process in which energy is created by the sun. Researchers believe it could be a source of clean, cheap and endless energy.
