이란은, 자체 핵 계획에 대한 유엔의 어떠한 행동도 불법으로, 서방과의 대결을 유도하게될것이라고 경고하고나섰습니다. 이란외무부의 하미드 레자 아세피 대변인은 7일 이같은 경고를 내놓았습니다.
아세피 대변인은, 영국과 프랑스가 미국의 후원하에 이란의 우라늄 농축과 재처리 과정을 모두 동결시키도록 요구할 결의안 초안을 유엔 안전보장이사회에 제출한 것과 관련해, 유엔 안보리의 어떠한 행동도 국제 원자력 기구, IAEA에 대한 이란측의 협력에 부정적인 영향을 줄것이며, 또 국제 사회가 이란에게 우라늄 농축을 중지하도록 강요하기위해 할 수 있는 일은 아무 것도 없다고 말했습니다.
이란 의회도 이날 유엔이 이란의 우라늄 농축 중지를 의무화하는 결의안을 채택할 경우 정부에게 이란의 핵 확산 금지 조약 탈퇴등 회원 지위를 재검토하도록 요청할것이라고 말했습니다.
한편, 조지 부쉬 미국 대통령은, 이란의 핵 계획 중지를 강요하기위해 군사 행동등 모든 선택 방안들이 고려돼야한다고 재차 역설했습니다.

Iran says any measures taken against its nuclear program would be illegal and lead to confrontation with the West.
Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi issued the warning today (Sunday) in Tehran at his weekly news conference.
Asefi said any action by the U.N. Security Council will leave a negative impact on Iran's cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
He says there is nothing the international community can do to compel Iran to suspend uranium enrichment.
Iranian lawmakers also said that because of the crisis they will demand a review of the part of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty that allows members to quit.
Meanwhile, President Bush has again said all options, including military action, should be considered to compel Iran to halt its nuclear program.
