Africa Union mediators have given Sudan's government and Darfur rebels another 48 hours to reach a peace deal that would end a civil war.
The initial deadline expired at midnight Sunday, but the lead mediator for the A.U. (Salim Ahmed Salim) said early today (Monday) the deadline was extended following a request from the United States.
