전세계 스포츠 관계자들이 앞으로 있게 될 올림픽 경기 준비 상황과 이와 관련된 다른 사안들을 논의하기 위해 한국 서울에 모였습니다.
2년마다 한번씩 열리는 국가올림픽위원회총연합회, ANOC 총회는 국제올림픽위원회의 자크 로게 위원장과 203개 회원국들가운데 199개 나라에서 9백 여명의 스포츠 지도자들이 참석한 가운데 2일 서울에서 개막됐습니다.
로게 위원장은 개막 연설에서 이탈리아 튜린에서 훌륭한 동계 올림픽이 치루어진 뒤를 이어 오는 2008년 베이징에서 하계 올림픽에 열릴 것으로 예정된 가운데 이제는 아시아로 초점을 바꿀 때라고 말했습니다.
사흘 일정의 이번 총회에서는 ANOC의 새 회장이 선출될 예정이며 그후 국제올림픽위원회의 집행 위원회는 오는 7일 까지 자체 회의를 갖게 됩니다.
국제올림픽위원회는 베이징 하계 올림픽 준비 상황을 점검하는 외에 2010년 뱅쿠버 동계올림픽과 2012년 런던 하계올림픽의 진전 상황도 검토할 예정입니다.

Sports officials from around the world have gathered in Seoul, South Korea to discuss preparations and other issues related to the upcoming Olympic Games.
The biennial meeting of the Association of National Olympic Committees opened Sunday, attended by International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge and 900 sports leaders from 199 of the 203 member countries.
In the opening speech, Rogge said that after a magnificent Winter Games in Turin, it is time to shift the focus to Asia and to what he called the "extraordinary experience" to be offered by the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
The three-day general assembly of the ANOC will elect a new president. The IOC's executive board will then have its own meeting through April seventh.
