프랑스에서 실시된 새로운 여론 조사 결과, 프랑스 국민의 3분의 1은 스스로를 최소한 어느정도 인종 차별 주의자로 여기고 있는 것으로 나타났습니다.
이같은 결과는 프랑스 인권 감시 단체, 국립 인권 자문 위원회에 의해 21일 발표돼습니다. 국립 인권 자문위원회는 이같은 조사 결과를 정부에 제출했습니다. 총 응답자 가운데 30퍼센트가, 인종 차별주의자, 또는 어느정도 인종차별주의자로 여기고 있다고 답했으며, 이는 일년전보다 25퍼센트가 증가한 것입니다.
여론 조사 기관 C.S.A는 지난해 11월 중순, 프랑스 국민 천명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시했습니다.

A new survey of French public opinion shows one-third of people consider themselves at least somewhat racist. The findings were released Tuesday and submitted to the government by a French human rights watchdog, the National Consultative Commission on Human Rights.
Thirty percent of respondents to the survey admitted to being racist or somewhat racist, up from 25-percent a year ago. The polling agency C.S.A. interviewed around one-thousand people for the study in mid-November of last year. The poll was conducted after weeks of rioting by youths from largely immigrant families in poor suburbs across France.
The youths set fire to thousands of cars in a show of anger at discrimination and the lack of access to jobs. The French human rights watchdog urged the government to do more to combat racism.
