팔레스타인의 이슬람 과격단체인 하마스는 19일 마무드 압바스 수반에게 각료명단을 제출하고 승인을 요청할 예정입니다.
하마스는 다른 정당들이 참여를 거부함에 따라 몇 주 간에 걸친 연립정부 구성 노력을 어쩔 수 없이 포기했습니다.
압바스 팔레스타인 자치정부 수반의 보좌관들은 압바스 수반이 정부 구성을 저지하기 위한 행정권을 사용하지 않을 것이라고 말했습니다. 하지만 압바스 수반은 이스라엘의 파괴를 다짐하고 있는 하마스에 대해 강경노선을 완화하도록 압박할 것으로 보입니다.
한편 이스라엘과 팔레스타인 관리들은 미국과 이집트 관리들과의 회담에 이어 국경통행로를 개방하기 위한 추가회담을 열 계획입니다.

The Islamic militant group Hamas is due to present its Cabinet to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas today (Sunday) for his approval.
Hamas was forced to abandon weeks of efforts to form a coalition government after other political parties refused to join.
Aides to Mr. Abbas say he will not use his executive authority to block the government. But he is expected to press Hamas -- which is sworn to Israel's destruction -- to moderate its hard-line positions.
In other developments, Israeli and Palestinian officials plan to hold more talks to open up border crossings following talks on the matter with U.S. and Egyptian officials today (Sunday).
